Hy2Market Consortium Meets in Lipari and Showcases Hydrogen Pilots at ICSET 2025
From June 24–25, the Hy2Market Consortium convened on the scenic island of Lipari, Sicily for its fourth Consortium Meeting—hosted alongside the ICSET 2025 International Conference on Sustainable Energy Technologies. Hosted by CNR-ITAE, the meeting provided a crucial moment for strategic planning, technical exchange, and international visibility as partners shared results from across the hydrogen value chain.
Consortium Meeting Highlights (June 24)
The Consortium Meeting opened with key updates on project coordination, deliverables, and financial planning. In-depth discussions followed on the progress of over 15 pilot and investment projects, covering the entire hydrogen value chain—from production and distribution to industrial and mobility applications.
Partners shared updates on:
- Hydrogen-from-waste pilot developments in Aragon and Constanta
- The methanation demonstration plant in Austria
- Sicily’s hydrogen pilot to feed into a peaker turbine
- Results of studies on liquid hydrogen, compression systems, and tubetrailer logistics
- Installation of the FTP pipeline in Deventer, Netherlands
- Industrial pilots such as the Aboño hydrogen burner retrofit and AIT’s Industrial Used Cases
- Hydrogen bus results in Médio Tejo region and progress in Austurias, Aragon, and Constanta regions
The day concluded with a knowledge exchange session focused on regulation, standardization, skills development, and the preparation of strategic policy papers to ensure impact beyond the project lifecycle.
