Duferco Engineering S.p.A.

Duferco Engineering was established in 1990, to organize the management of Duferco Group investments. Duferco Engineering is a group company providing engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, project management and O&M services to the Duferco Group as well as for third parties. It has its own core business in the Renewable Energy, Infrastructure and in the Industrial sectors.

Our role in the project

Duferco has recently completed the construction of a 59 MW Peaker Power Generation Turbine in Giammoro, Sicily. This state-of-the-art facility has the role of regulating the power network through dispatchment by the Italian TSO. With the participation to the Hy2Market project, Duferco allow to utilize the Peaker as a testing ground for blending hydrogen and methane as turbine fuel, contributing to lowering carbon dioxide emissions during operations.

Our impact within our region

Duferco played a major role in the regional industry in the latest 30 years – as today heavy industry such as steel manufacturing is wavy conditions, Duferco is giving a new positioning to the Giammoro site in the Renwable Energy Sector, and the Hy2Market project represents one pillar to the change.
